Annie Sue Tucker, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 12, 1944, in Buchanan, Georgia, to the late Wesley Haney and Eunice Hobbs Haney.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley Forrister; brothers, Charles Haney, James Haney, and Larry Haney, Jr.; and sisters, Elaine Temmerson and Evelyn Griffin.
Sue was the kind of woman who found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved the outdoors and could often be found taking a walk, hiking a favorite trail, or simply admiring the beauty around her. She was never happier than when she was sitting on the bank of a lake with a fishing pole in hand or searching for Indian artifacts along the way.
The mountains were her happy place, and whenever she had the chance, that’s where she loved to go. More than anything, Sue loved her family.
She treasured her fur babies, who brought her so much joy, but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the true light of her life. They held a special place in her heart, and the time she spent with them was among her greatest blessings. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of nature, and the deep love she had for those she called her own.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jerry Tucker; sons, Johnny Forrister and wife, Neina, Jimmy Forrister and wife, Vickie, Tommy Forrister and wife, Lisa, and Randy Forrister and wife, Candice; daughters, Sandra Escutia and husband, Jose, Cathy Mooneyham and husband, Scott, and Martha Hood and husband, Eddie; 16 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services to honor her life will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, July 31, 2026, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Head officiating.
Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery in Cedartown, Georgia.
Mrs. Tuckers’ family will receive friends on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 1:00 until the service hour.
The gentlemen serving as pallbearers are Paul Escutia, Eddie Hood, Jackson Forrister, Jake Forrister, Joshua Mooneyham, and Scott Mooneyham.
