Mrs. Barbara Ann Mullinax Wood, age 88 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
She was born on August 16, 1937 in Cedartown. She was the daughter of the late J.T. Mullinax and Lillian McCain Brown.
Barbara retired from First National Bank after many years of devoted employment. Prior to this she was a Supervisor at Arrow Shirt Company. Her skill with a sewing machine was pure magic.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and enjoyed the family history that the church is known for, representing generations after generations of family. Family meant the world to Barbara! She was proud to be a wife, mother, homemaker and her biggest pride was her grandson Aden.
Anyone that came in contact with her, walked away knowing how much she loved him. However, her life lived by example, attested to her first love and commitment to Jesus Christ her Savior!
In her spare time, she loved to spend time with her family, read and paint. If you were lucky, you have received one of her paintings. She was also proud to work by her husband’s side being a Shrinnette. Clifton and her served many decades representing the Cedar Valley Shrine Club supporting children in need.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her daughter, Layne W. Loyd (Jeff); grandson, Aden Jiles and several other loving family members.
Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifton Thomas Wood; son, Richard Gary “Ricky” Wood and several other loving family members
