Mrs. Betty Sue Crowe, age 74, of Rockmart, GA, assed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Mrs. Crowe was born in Marietta, GA, on December 5, 1950, daughter of the late Howard Marshall and Ally Mae Ponder Marshall. She grew up in Marietta and has been in Rockmart for the past 22 years.

Mrs. Crowe was a housewife and homemaker who enjoyed being a wife and mother. She was of the Baptist faith and cherished the time she got to spend with her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crowe was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Alton Crowe, a brother, Gene Marshall, and an aunt, Elizabeth Witton.

Mrs. Crowe is survived by two sons, Jason (Daphne) Crowe, and Darrell Crowe; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Crowe will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. Her son, Jason Crowe, will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Georgia National Cemetery.

Mrs. Crowe’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise, age 60, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Sunday evening, April 12, 2026.

Chuck was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on October 4, 1965 and had made his home in Rockmart for the past 16 years.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in cycling, fly fishing, riding motorcycles, and horseback riding. He also had a fascination with astronomy and a deep love for animals. Known for his warm spirit, Chuck never passed up a good latte or the chance to share a classic “dad joke,” bringing smiles to those around him.

Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Ellie.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Libby Hise, whom he married September 6, 1986; three children, Brandon Hise (Linzi), Meagan Brannon (Taylor), and Lauren Williams (Jeff); five grandchildren, Caroline, Kai, Fin, Kase, and Andy; and parents, Charles and Joanne Hise.

Funeral services for Chuck will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Little officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Chuck’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday evening, April 17, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Brandon Hise, Jeff Williams, Taylor Brannon, Greg Knight, Jake Knight, and Brantley Nelson. Chuck’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, 364 Parker Road, Lyerly, GA 30730 in memory of Mr. Hise.
