Rockmart-area vets who have been honored with the Purple Heart after being wounded in combat are being requested to contact a Rockmart City Council member for upcoming honors in November.

Councilmember Mike Bradley requested during the City Council meeting on Tuesday evening, October 11 for any vet with a Rockmart mailing address to reach out to him as he has plans to honor those who have sacrificed for the nation during the month of November.

“Next month is Veteran’s month, one of our most important groups in the country,” he said. “I would like to do a thing to represent the veterans who have received the Purple Heart.”

He’s asking that if you know a Purple Heart veteran or are a vet to contact him to take part in the honors. His number is 706-767-0500.

Additional reporting about Bradley’s plans will be posted as the information becomes available. Polk Today has reached out to Councilman Bradley for comment.
