Wimberly Hill Baptist Church is set to host a week of revival, and will cap it off with a community tailgate to bring Cedartown and Rockmart together in prayer before the big kickoff of the football season the following week.

The church is set to host their Rival Revival starting on August 3 and continuing through Aug. 7, with the final night to cap off a week of worship with the tailgating night that is free for all to come and take part.

Each night of the revival will feature a speaker who is a graduate from either Cedartown or Rockmart High Schools. Those who will be sharing the word CHS alum Kyle Camp for the opening night on Aug.3 ; Jason Purser, a graduate of Rockmart High on Aug. 4; Hunter Marchbanks of Cedartown High on Aug. 5 and Connor Hooper, another RHS alum, on Aug. 6.

Wimberly Hill Pastor Adam Elrod will be leading a devotion during the community tailgate on Thursday night, Aug. 7.

“Wimberly Hill Baptist Church has felt the call for revival, and with our unique location between the two towns, we saw an opportunity to create something truly special,” Elrod said. “We wanted to bring our county together through faith, fellowship, and fun – especially with the upcoming rivalry football game. At its’ heart, this event is about unity: reminding us that while we are two towns, there is one truth found in Jesus Christ.”

Thursday’s tailgate event will include free food for those in attendance, plus opportunities for crafts for youth and a family-friendly activity focused on prayer.

Wimberly Hill Baptist Church is located at 200 Wimberly Hill Loop, Cedartown.
