Cindy D. Truett

Cindy D. Truett, age 46 of Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Cindy was born August 28, 1975 in Rome to Johnny Ray Truett and Joyce Phillips Truett.

She was a 1994 graduate of Cedartown High School. Cindy loved to watch NASCAR and go deer hunting.

Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents: Jay and Haydeen Phillips and B.J. and Jimmie Truett; her sister, Johnna Lynn Truett and the Love of her Life, Delbert Akers.

Survivors include her son Hunter Akers (Ajeria); mother and father, Johnny Ray and Joyce Phillips Truett; brother, Jason Truett (Lisa) and grandson, Christopher Jordan Jackson along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held, Saturday, October 2, 2021, 4:00 PM at The Smith & Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Truett and Rev. Terry Folsom officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Smith & Miller Funeral Home, 1000 N. Main St., Cedartown, GA 30125, to help with expenses.

The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Cindy D. Truett.

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield, age 77, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026.  

He was born on March 27, 1948. He was the son of the late John Parker Whitfield and Edith Ann Whitfield Willingham. 

Mr. Whitfield is survived by his son, Brian Whitfield and several other extended family members. 

Mr. Whitfield is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Renee Willingham Whitfield and brother, Howard Glenn Whitfield. 

A graveside service for Mr. Whitfield will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the family lot in Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating.
