Mr. Dennis M. McCulley Sr.

Mr. Dennis M. McCulley, Sr., age 70, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Sunday evening, August 14, 2022.

Dennis was born in Anniston, AL, on February 6, 1952, son of the late John Kensley McCulley and Doris Clay McCulley.

He had been a resident of Cedartown and Polk County for the greater part of his life and was a member of Benedict Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, Dennis was a technician with GEO Specialty Chemicals for a number of years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and also loved motorcycles, fishing, wrestling, watching westerns and football, especially Alabama University (Roll Tide).

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny McCulley, and a sister, Nikki McCulley.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Glenda McKerley McCulley; two sons, Mike McCulley and Ricky McCulley and his wife, Angie; grandchildren, Candice, Kimberly, Erica (Caleb), Alan, Heather, Robert, Madison, Mason, Tyler (Amberly), and Tammie (Chris); great-grandchildren, Sean, Aleigha, Merrick, Colbie, Adam, and Rymini; siblings, Darlene Mosley, Ann (Jerry) Rainey, Marlene (Paul) Roberts, and Scott (Fay) McCulley. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Dennis will be Thursday afternoon, August 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Smith and Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Sims and Mr. Paul King officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

Dennis’ family will receive friends at Smith and Miler Funeral Home Wednesday evening, August 17, 2022, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Paul Rountree, Danny Strickland, Caleb Croft, Tyler McCulley, Alan McCulley, and Chris Roberts. Phillip Pruitt will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The Smith and Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Dennis M. McCulley.

Larry “Bushwacker” Brown


Obituaries

Mr. Larry “Bushwacker” Brown, age 66, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Larry was born in Cedartown, Georgia, to the late J.C. Brown and Betty Garrett Brown, on August 15, 1959.

He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on. In his free time, he found joy in the simple things—riding the back roads, singing karaoke with friends, and spending time working on cars. He also had a love for music, often picking up a guitar and playing for those around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Jimmy Brown; nephews, Kevin Brown and Kenneth Brown; long-time friend, Jerone Jackson.

Larry is survived by his children Keith Brown (Alisha), Daniel Brown (Lindsey Reece), and Jadya Brown; twelve grandchildren; brother, Terry Brown (Diane Glover); sister-in-law, Belinda Brown. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Services for Larry “Bushwacker” Brown will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Justin Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Alabama.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
