Mrs. Doris Irene Welch, age 81, of Aragon, GA passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Doris was born in Buffalo, NY on August 25, 1943, a daughter of the late Lawrence Youman and Mona Townsand Youman.
She had been a resident of Aragon since 1987 and was of the Baptist faith. Doris enjoyed sewing, cooking, planting flowers, traveling, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by two sons, James Nation, Jr. and Ricky Dean Nation; brothers, Tommy Youman and Richard Youman; sisters, Joann Just, Margaret Mohon, Jeanne Murdock, and Nancy Price.

Doris is survived by her husband, Eddie Welch to whom she was married on December 13, 2005; daughter, Rebecca (Anthony) Dale; special daughter, Terry Donley; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Terry Youman and Howard Youman; sisters, Shirley Taylor and Jane Woolard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Welch will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Dabbs officiating. Doris’ brother, Terry Youman will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens of Rome.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include Justin Millhollan, Hunter Millhollan, Brian Nation, Kyle Gobel, Greg Stonebreaker, and Carson Hankins.
