
Mrs. Evelyn Mae DeLeeuw West, age 87, of Cedartown, Georgia peacefully passed away on Friday February 24, 2023.
Mrs. West was born on February 27, 1935 in Polk County, Georgia, the daughter of the late William DeLeeuw, Sr. and the late Laura Moncrief DeLeeuw.
Mrs. West grew up and lived in Cedartown her entire life.
Mrs. West was a long-time and faithful member of Southside Baptist Church, where she served for many years as the church pianist.
She, along with her best friend Gloria McKibben, was a founding member of the Nifty-Fifty group at the church. Evelyn loved music and loved to laugh.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Robin and Joseph Heinen and Kay and Dr. Roger Pede. She is also survived by three grandchildren Laura Nicole Heinen, Kathryn Pede and Christopher Pede. Also, sisters-in-law Nancy West Dodgens and Paula West and brother-in-law Jerry West (Beverly) and a number of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Joseph West, brother Dr. William L. DeLeeuw, Jr, sisters-in-law Helen Molock, Fannie West, and Mary Jo West; brothers-in-law Jimmy West, Bobby West, Sr. and Harvey Molock.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with the service following in the chapel. The Rev. Jeff Pilgrim will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Southside Baptist Church.
