
Make sure to save the date to celebrate a big milestone for Ferst Readers of Polk County.
They are celebrating the 100,000th book they’ve distributed free to youth through their early years across the county, part of an ongoing effort to increase childhood literacy.
Ferst Readers event is open to the public and coming up on Saturday, February 7 at the Polk County Historical Society’s museum at 117 West Ave., Cedartown.
This year’s event includes giveaways and door prizes, plus crafts and games for youth and refreshments throughout the event.
It is set to run from 2 to 4 p.m. in downtown Cedartown.
