Francis Trimmer Jr.

Francis Trimmer Jr., age 82 born in Salina, Kansas passed away in Rome, GA surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Francis was married to the love of his life Janis Trimmer for many years, he was in the US Navy and proudly retired after 25 years of service, he then worked 15 years at Daughtery County Sheriff Department.

He was of Christian faith and was part of Northpoint Baptist Church. He really enjoyed classic cars, a cup of coffee and non-filtered cigarettes.

He was preceded in death by his father Burl Trimmer, his wife Janis Trimmer, his brother Steve Trimmer and sisters Beverly Trimmer and Mary Douglas.

Survivors include his daughters Patricia (Mark) Wolfe, Kim Uribe, Paula Foote and Marsha Thomas, his grandchildren, Christian Mills, Dacoda Wolfe and Makayla Wade, Brianna Rogers and Katy Rogers. His great grandchildren, Calvin Dumas, Senaj Dumas, Sabrina Strickland, Naden Strickland, Devin Smith, Leona Smith, Parker McMillan and Bentley Ridlen and several nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a funeral service on Tuesday, March 07, 2023, at the National Cemetery located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114 at 12:30PM to honor his life of service.

Mrs. Eva Ruth Gibson Short

Mrs. Eva Ruth Gibson Short, age 82, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025.

She was born on February 19, 1943 in Cherokee, Alabama.  She was the daughter of the late John Hubert and Eula Adell Lockridge Gibson. 

Mrs. Short is survived by her sons, John Short (Mary) and Brad Short; grandchildren, Matt Bridges, Kayla Bridges, Katie Swafford (Drew) and Emma Hellriegel (Jake); great-grandchildren, Josie, Bo, Ella Ruth and Case Swafford and Chloe Hellriegel and nieces and nephews; and several other extended family members. 

Mrs. Short is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Edward Short; daughter, Karen Denise Short Bridges; sisters, Louise Liner and Mary Frances Corn and brothers, Herbert Gibson and Wayne Gibson. 

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Short will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at one o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Camp officiating.  Interment will follow in the family lot of Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.   

The family of Mrs. Short will receive family and friends on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from eleven o’clock in the morning until the funeral service hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Bill Short, Sam Short, Dennis Alexander, Drew Swafford, Jake Hellriegel, Zack Alexander and Jay Liner.
