























The HON Company played host for an Polk County Emergency Management Agency’s exercise to see how first responders would act during an industrial fire breaking out at the facility in the Westside Industrial Park on West Avenue in Cedartown.
Along with officials from The HON Company and Polk County EMA, the Polk County Police, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Fire-Rescue, Cedartown Police, Cedartown Fire & Rescue and AdventHealth Redmond EMS took part in the exercise, with County and City Administrators along for the practice run as observers.
The simulated fire – including smoke created on the roof and inside the building – began around 10:15 a.m. and was out by 10:40 a.m., with the building cleared and the “injured” checked out by EMS personnel before a “hospital trip.”
