Mr. Gary Lamar Cannon

Mr. Gary Lamar Cannon, age 75, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday evening, November 21, 2022.

Gary was born in Cartersville, GA, on June 17, 1947, son of the late Sam Buford Cannon and Jeanette Hatfield Cannon.

He had lived most of his life in Polk County and was of the Baptist faith. Gary retired from General Motors Doraville Assembly Plant after 34 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing, watching University of Alabama Football and riding the backroads.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Cannon, and a brother, Larry J. Cannon.

Gary is survived by two daughters, Sherry (Jeff) Dunn, and Stacey (Steve) Gamel; two sons, Jan (Dekonda) Cannon, and Sam (Teanna) Cannon. Thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.

Graveside and interment services for Gary will be Wednesday afternoon, November 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Wright officiating.

Gary’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Robert Cannon, Wally Redmond, Zane Cannon, Jordan Gregory, Dylan Kinard, and Mark Thorne. Gary Camp and Steve Gamel will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements for Mr. Gary Lamar Cannon.
