This edition of Hometown Photo is one of those moments I hope I get to capture from time to time, but am rarely in the right spot to make it work.

That perfect moment came when a group of firefighters happened to be lined up just right to capture them honoring the nation’s flag during the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner during Tuesday afternoon’s home game between the Rockmart Lady Jackets and the Adairsville Lady Tigers.

The patriotic moment was followed up with exactly the kind of afternoon the fans want to experience: the home team defending their turf.

Rockmart came away with a win over the Lady Tigers and are back in action (edit: Thursday) on the road in region play in Dalton against Coahulla Creek.
