A family is mourning the tragic loss of their child in the Rockmart area on Tuesday after an accidental fall, according to local officials.
The Polk County Coroner’s Office tonight confirmed the death of a one-year-old on Tuesday, August 30 after they pronounced the child dead on the scene after an accident on property on Government Farm Road owned by the infant.
Rockmart Fire and Rescue, AdventHealth Redmond EMS, Polk County Police, Rockmart Police and other local officials all responded to the scene on Tuesday after the accident was called in, and Georgia State Patrol arrived shortly after to take over the investigation, since it involved a vehicle.
