Mr. James “Gary” Chadwick

Mr. James “Gary” Chadwick, age 83, of Cedartown, passed away Friday morning, November 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Chadwick was born in Cedartown on March 15, 1942, the son of the late James Murray Chadwick and the late Mildred Shifflett Chadwick.

Affectionately known as “Gigi,” Mr. Chadwick’s life left an impact on all who knew him, especially his family. A successful entrepreneur straight out of high school, he began his business ventures with the start of the Interstate Gas Station. His work also brought him into the real estate business where he kept rental houses in the area.

An avid collector of antiques, Mr. Chadwick had quite a collection of memorable items he collected over the years.

Above all, he loved his family and his memory will be carried by all ho knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chadwick is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Chadwick; son, Darrell Chadwick, and siblings, Wayne Chadwick and Butch Chadwick.

Mr. Chadwick is survived by his loving children: son, Michael Chadwick and daughter, Cathy Chadwick Cuthbertson; granddaughter, Darra Barber (Mitchell); great-grandchildren, Laykn Thornton, Parker Thornton, and Teegan Thornton.

Funeral services for Mr. Chadwick will be conducted Monday December 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with eulogies given by Darra Barber, Jeff Ricketts, and Mr. Chadwick’s friends. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Cedartown.

The family will receive friends Sunday November 30 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Litesey Funeral Home. Additionally, Mr. Chadwick will lie in state Monday December 1 from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at 2:00 p.m.

The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Stacy Chadwick, Lee Chadwick, Terry Parker, Parker Thornton, Mitchell Thornton, Danny Rittenhouse, John Paul Wigley.

Mrs. Shirley Wilkes Timms

Mrs. Shirley Wilkes Timms, age 78, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Mrs. Timms was born May 20, 1947, in Rome, Georgia, to the late Benjamin Franklin Wilkes and Dolly Hardeman Wilkes.

Mrs. Timms loved sightseeing on road trips and especially cherished her visits to the beach. She adored her dog, Cooper, and found joy in spending time outdoors, tending to her flower garden or relaxing with a good book. She also enjoyed antiquing, always on the lookout for a special treasure.

She was a caring nurse and took great pride in looking after her residents at Cedar Springs Nursing Home, treating each one with kindness and compassion. A devoted Christian, she loved serving the Lord at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church. Above all, she deeply loved her family, especially the time she shared with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Timms is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. James “Buddy” Timms.

Mrs. Timms is survived by her children: Deborah Romine (Dwayne), Lisa Jones (Jon), Janie Jacobs (Dustin), Cindy Pierce (Cristian), Kenneth Timms (Teresa), Scott Timms (Lynn), Lynn Timms, Heather Stout (Johnathon), Robert “Bobby” Stout, and Pedro Garcia; grandchildren: Brittany Tinsley (Kelly), Benji Garcia (Kayla Guttery), Cissy Fenley (Jason), Nesi Garcia, Daniel Jones (Melana), and Chloe Jones; twenty greatgrandchildren; several great-greatgrandchildren; sister, Mary Davis; special niece, Sonya Bollen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services to honor her life will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Terry Sims and Brother Blake Sargent officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the service begins.
