Mr. James Richard Beasley

Mr. James Richard Beasley, age 84, passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025.

James was born in Atlanta, GA, on March 21, 1941, son of the late Benjamin Franklin Beasley and the late Zella Pearl Aly Beasley.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War, and was a 1963 graduate of Louisiana State University, where he earned his Batchelor’s Degree. James was a land surveyor who also worked in several different occupations.

He enjoyed hiking in the woods and listening to music, especially from the 60’s and 70’s, camping, traveling and working with his hands, especially doing artwork. He always cherished his time with family and his most important role was being a Daddy to anyone who needed one.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra Lynn Short Beasley, and a granddaughter Angelique Katheryn Irene “Katie” Argue.

James is survived by his daughter, Nancy Lynn-Argue; granddaughter, Elizabeth Luisjuan; god-daughters, Tracy Jackson, Karen Reagan, Sharon Martin, and Margie Wise and seventeen other people who called him Daddy.

In keeping with his wishes, James will be cremated, and his cremains will be placed in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Mr. Jack Howard Davis

Mr. Jack Howard Davis, age 86, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Friday morning, January 16, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be held on Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. His son, Michael Davis will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Davis’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
