Mr. Jerry Lee Carter, age 76, of Aragon, GA, passed away Monday morning, April 24, 2023, at his residence.
Jerry was born in Rockmart on March 31, 1947, son of the late Hubert Gordon Carter and Ruby Wheeler Carter.
He had lived all his life in Polk County and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Jerry was self-employed, installing carpet and floor coverings. He enjoyed farming and loved his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rita Taylor Carter; six children, Tim Carter, Sherry Clements, Amanda Wynn, Joseph Carter, Hannah Carter Gentry, and Zachary Carter; sister, Gail Chambers; brother, Mike Carter. Twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Jerry will be held Friday evening, April 28, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Clements officiating.
Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jerry Lee Carter.
