Mr. Jimmy Eugene Landers

Mr. Jimmy Eugene Landers, age 80 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday February 9, 2023. He was born on August 14, 1942 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Charles Joe and Lena Lucille Wills Landers.

Mr. Landers is survived by his wife, Shirley Heath Landers; daughter, Jimmie Ann Landers; son, Joe Landers (Lisa); grandchildren, Jeremy Cope (Crystal), Jayca Landers, CJ Landers (Adriana) and Jaron Landers (Megan) and great-grandchildren, Jackson Cope, Tanner Cope, Cinsleigh Landers, Stacey Rios, and Sophia Ortiz.

Mr. Landers is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sylvia McAvoy and Rachel Landers; granddaughter, Anna Daniel Cope; and great-grandson, Hudson Landers.

The funeral service for Mr. Jimmy Eugene Landers will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Forrister and Rev. Terry Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Landers will receive family and friends on Monday, February 13, 2023 from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jeremy Cope, CJ Landers, Jaron Landers, Luke Pyles, Efren Cornejo, and John Pointer. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Landers, Lamar Cope, Calvin Maddox, Sr., and George Maddox, Jr.

Floyd Earl Anderson Jr.

Floyd Earl Anderson Jr., age 70, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday afternoon, January 19, 2026.

Mr. Anderson was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on December 27, 1955, a son of the late Floyd Anderson, Sr. and Dorothy Faye Milam Anderson.

He spent the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was of the Baptist faith. After 36 years of dedicated service, Mr. Anderson retired from Meggitt, where he was known for his strong work ethic and loyalty. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.  Above all, Mr. Anderson was a devoted family man who cherished time with those he loved. He had a deep love for music and found joy in playing the guitar, and in his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Anderson.

Mr. Anderson is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Cheri) Anderson, and Jesse (Jessica) Anderson; two sisters, Kathy (Larry) Grimes, and Vickie Polston; brother, Terry Shores. Eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Shores officiating.

Mr. Anderson’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Thursday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
