Mrs. Joanne Bishop White

Mrs. Joanne Bishop White, age 91, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Snyder, TX.

Mrs. White was born in Rockmart on November 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph G.W. Bishop and Nettie Barrett Bishop.

She had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Mrs. White had lived in the Athens, GA area from 1956 util 1962, moving back to Rockmart, then in 2019, she moved to Snyder.

She had worked her entire career in healthcare, working with Georgia Baptist Hospital for 17 years, Polk Medical Center for 4 years and retired from WellStar Paulding as a Licensed Practical Nurse after 15 years of service. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace L. White, whom she married in 1962. A brother, Franklin Bishop, and two sisters, Harriette Lucille Bishop and Mary Lorene Bright also preceded her in death.

Mrs. White is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. White will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 12:00 noon in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Purser officiating.

Jesus Morillon Ochoa

Jesus Morillon Ochoa age 86, passed away on December 11, 2025, in Cartersville, Georgia. 

He was born on May 1, 1939, in Pineda, Guerrero, Mexico.  He was the son of Santana Morillon and Maria David Ochoa.

He married his wife Maria de la Luz Lopez in 1960 and together they had 8 children. During his early years he was a brasero in the state of California, devoting many years to working in the fields picking strawberries. 

His many years of work gave him the ability to bring his family to the United States.  He moved again to Cedartown, Georgia in the 1990s establishing a home and a new job, this time at Zartic Inc.  He worked there for many years and eventually retired after many years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jose Emir Morillon Lopez; brothers, Odon, Rito and Manuel and sister, Alejandra. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria de la Luz Lopez and seven children, Ever (Paula), Dolores (Juana), Urbein (Martha), Raquel (Enrique), Bertha, Maria de Los Angeles (Martin) and Jesus (Maribel); 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. 

His loved ones will miss him tremendously as he was the pillar of the family. ” Te extrañaremos por siempre viejo.”

The family of Mr. Morillon will receive family and friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at the Gammage Funeral Home.
