Mr. Joseph Lamar Powers, age 55, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Thursday July 30, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Powers was born in Cedartown, GA, on April 12, 1971 to the late Geraldine Bentley.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Powers is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Stephanie Powers; brothers, Barry and Steve Wilson; and his sisters, Patti Ledbetter and Judy Thomas.
Mr. Powers will forever be remembered for his friendly spirit and his love of living a simple life. He found joy in being with his family and he loved watching football. He also loved being outdoors and taking walks with his beloved dog, Cooper.
Mr. Powers is survived by his significant other of 14 years, Susan Sisson; daughters, Shannon Powers (Davey Smith), Jennifer Roggow (Eric), Jesse Ottinger (Justin); sons, Jeremy Powers (Ashley Guinn), and Luke Sisson; and grandchildren, Lydia Roggow, Jaxson Ottinger, Jasper Ottinger, and Cameron Sisson.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Powers will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests doantions be made to St. Jude’s in honor of Mr. Powers.
