Mrs. Joyce W. Martin, age 85, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.
Mrs. Martin was born in Rockmart on February 20, 1938, a daughter of the late Carl White and Ida Estell Hitt White.
She had lived all her life in Rockmart and attended Rockmart High School. Mrs. Martin worked for a number of years with Shaw Industries prior to retirement. She then went back to work with Polk School District where she worked in the lunchroom for several years, then retired again.
Mrs. Martin was of the Baptist faith and loved to sing and spend time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Martin, daughter, Tembria Myers, and grandsons, Justin and Cody Myers. Nine brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Martin is survived by a daughter, Vikki Wisniewski; two sons, Ricky Bruce and Robert Bruce; five grandchildren, Amanda, Britanya, Michelle, Robert, and Ashley; eleven great-grandchildren, Makayla, Allison, Damien, Chayton, Sky, Dekel, Hope, Lexi, Hunter, Raylan, and Elijah; sister, Louise Robinson. Several great-great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held Thursday morning, November 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral home with Rev. Ronnie Shirley and Rev. Jerry Womack officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Jacob Wofford in charge of graveside rites.
Mrs. Martin’s family will receive friends Wednesday evening November 29, 2023, at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Damien Myers, Dekel Myers, Robert Bruce, Hunter Metzner, J.D. Darden, Jesse Haddock and Matthew Ploof. Paul Wofford and Richard Peugh will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Joyce W. Martin.
