Mr. Kenneth Collum

Mr. Kenneth Collum, age 72, of Cave Spring, GA, formerly of Rockmart, GA, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Kenneth was born in Cedartown, GA, on October 20, 1950, son of the late William Felton “Son” Collum and Martha Grace Ferguson Collum. He had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart, having moved to Cave Spring 13 years ago.

Kenneth was a graduate of Rockmart High School and attended Georgia Tech. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a self-employed carpenter.

Kenneth loved music, enjoyed painting and drawing, doing all kinds of woodworking and cherished the time he got to spend with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Coalson, and a brother, Duane Collum.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Leslie Collum (Andrew Griffith) of Rockmart, and Justin (Brianna) Collum of Chatsworth, GA; three grandchildren, Santana Jones, Maisy Johnson, and Judson Collum. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, Kenneth will be cremated, and a family memorial service is being planned. For information regarding the service, please contact Leslie or Justin at 706-270-1275.

Jesus Morillon Ochoa

Jesus Morillon Ochoa age 86, passed away on December 11, 2025, in Cartersville, Georgia. 

He was born on May 1, 1939, in Pineda, Guerrero, Mexico.  He was the son of Santana Morillon and Maria David Ochoa.

He married his wife Maria de la Luz Lopez in 1960 and together they had 8 children. During his early years he was a brasero in the state of California, devoting many years to working in the fields picking strawberries. 

His many years of work gave him the ability to bring his family to the United States.  He moved again to Cedartown, Georgia in the 1990s establishing a home and a new job, this time at Zartic Inc.  He worked there for many years and eventually retired after many years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jose Emir Morillon Lopez; brothers, Odon, Rito and Manuel and sister, Alejandra. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria de la Luz Lopez and seven children, Ever (Paula), Dolores (Juana), Urbein (Martha), Raquel (Enrique), Bertha, Maria de Los Angeles (Martin) and Jesus (Maribel); 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. 

His loved ones will miss him tremendously as he was the pillar of the family. ” Te extrañaremos por siempre viejo.”

The family of Mr. Morillon will receive family and friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at the Gammage Funeral Home.
