Mrs. Linda Goss Singleton

Mrs. Linda Goss Singleton, age 74, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, November 6, 2024.

Linda was born in Rome, GA, on August 5, 1950, a daughter of the late Jett Goss and Frances Roberson Goss.

She had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. Linda was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she was active in the Busy Bees and AWANA.

She had worked for the Polk County Police Department as a clerk prior to retiring after 32 years of service. Linda enjoyed reading and loved her dogs and cats.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Howell Goss, and sisters, Mildred Amerson, Geraldine (Jeri) Terry Schmid, Sara Chandler Over De Vest, and Jeanette Kirk Jones.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bill Singleton, whom she married December 4, 1987; two sisters, Fay Tarbush and Annie Gray; three brothers, Joe Goss, Don “Gene” Goss, and Charles Goss.

Funeral services for Linda will be held on Saturday afternoon, November 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating. Interment will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Linda’s family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers will include Jason Tarbush, Ryan Tarbush, Donnie Goss, Steve Amerson, Robbie Thorpe, and McQuade Dillard.

Mrs. Nancy Ruth Gentry, age 78, of Adairsville, GA, passed away Monday evening, November 10, 2025.

Mrs. Gentry was born on December 26, 1946, to the late Otis Leman “Tobe” Grant and the late Lula Belle Edwards Grant.

Nancy’s working career included employment with Aragon Mills and Muzzy’s, and she later served as a medical technician at Renaissance Marquis before retiring. In her free time, she loved fishing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by her husband, Phillips H. Gentry, her daughter, Phyllis Kaye Gentry; and her 3 brothers, Billy Grant, Jerry Grant, and Jimmy Grant.

She is survived by her daughters Hope Uitermark and Stacey (Brent) Ledford; her grandchildren, Celia (Doug) Hall, Wade (Renee) Ledford, Adam (Hayley) Bell, and Erin Bell; greatgrandchildren, Kipton Hall, Harper Hall, Ava Bell, Gunner Bell, Peyton Ledford, Stryker Lewis, Jackson Higdon, and Cooper Higdon; her sister, Joyce Ward; sister-in-law Joan Paulus; brother-in-law, Jackie (Shirley) Gentry; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Nancy will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Gentry and Rev. Jesse Starnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylorsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Brent Ledford, Wade Ledford, Adam Bell, Doug Hall, Kipton Hall, and Bobby Cartledge. Honorary pallbearers include Stryker Lewis, Gunner Bell, Ava Bell, Harper Hall, and Peyton Ledford.
