Mrs. Marvine Heath Forrister

Mrs. Marvine Heath Forrister, age 89 of Rockmart, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2025.  

She was born on November 28, 1935 in Cedartown.  She was the daughter of the late Paul David and Annie Ruth Bell Heath. 

Mrs. Forrister is survived by her daughters, Marie Arp and Vickie Lanham (Greg); son, Charlie Lamar Forrister (Reba); sisters, Shirley Landers and Vivian Preston; brother, Billy Heath (Viv); grandchildren, Leighann, Hailey, Heather (Howard), Raven, Travis (Hannah), Michael (Jessica), and Gryffon; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members; and her loving family at The Cottages of Rockmart. 

Mrs. Forrister is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herrell L. Forrister; sisters, Gladys Eaves, Betty Faye Maddox, and Joyce Turner; and brothers, Ralph Heath, Bobby Heath, and Harvey Heath. 

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Forrister will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Redding officiating.  Interment will follow in the family lot at Pine Bower Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family of Mrs. Forrister will receive family and friends on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from two o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral service hour at the Gammage Funeral Home. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Travis Forrister, Aidan Forrister, Skylar Edwards, Gryffon Lanham, Jeremi Wester, and Zach Pope.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Hood and Taegan Forrister.

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield, age 77, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026.  

He was born on March 27, 1948. He was the son of the late John Parker Whitfield and Edith Ann Whitfield Willingham. 

Mr. Whitfield is survived by his son, Brian Whitfield and several other extended family members. 

Mr. Whitfield is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Renee Willingham Whitfield and brother, Howard Glenn Whitfield. 

A graveside service for Mr. Whitfield will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the family lot in Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating.
