Mr. Daniel Lee “Buck” Coalson, age 67, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
Buck was born on April 22, 1954 in Rome, GA, to his parents, Clarence Coalson, Sr. and Leona Bowman Coalson.
Mr. Coalson lived all his life in Polk County and had worked as a EMT for Polk EMS and a paramedic for Bartow County and Redmond before retiring as a lieutenant after 37 ½ years of service. Buck would tell anyone and everyone who would listen and even to those who wouldn’t, that he was a “former paramedic of 37 ½ years”.
Buck was affectionately known by his granddaughter as “PopPop” and by his co-workers as “Uncle Buck”. Mr. Coalson was a member of Bellview Baptist Church and was the former choir director there. In his free time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, doing jigsaw puzzles on his tablet and watching birds eat out of his bird feeders.
Mr. Coalson was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Coalson was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Coalson Sr. and Leona Bowman Coalson.

Buck is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Kathy Coalson of Rockmart, GA, son, Aaron Coalson and his wife, Ashley of Cedartown, GA, daughter, Amy Coalson of Rockmart, GA, granddaughter, Amelia Coalson, brother, Clarence Coalson Jr. and his wife, Lea of Buchanan, Ga, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Daniel Lee “Buck” Coalson will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Purser officiating and a eulogy given by Mr. Robbie Hill. Mr. Coalson will lie in state at the church on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 2:00 PM until the service hour at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Aragon Cemetery with Pastor James Cook officiating the committal service.
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Jimmy Fowler, Ben Fowler, Charles Dabbs, Chad Dabbs, Scott Clapp and Zach McArthur. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bucks former co-workers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Bellview Baptist Church in loving memory of Mr. Coalson or to make donations to the funeral home to help with Bucks final expenses.
