Mr. Gail Piper Hood

Mrs. Gail Piper Hood, age 83, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021.

Mrs. Hood was born in Barnesville, Georgia to Myrtice Emmett Piper and Grover Cleveland Piper.

Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her husband, John Carter (Jack) Hood and her daughter, Jackie Hood Landrum.

She is survived by her daughters Karen Johnson (Ross) and Kathy Carr (Barry); Son-in-Law Steve Landrum; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hood took an early retirement after 27 years of service with Bell South/AT&T, so that she could  enjoy her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Bell South/AT&T Pioneers Service Organization.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown, where she attended the Dorcas Ladies Sunday School Class and the WMU Southern Baptist Missions Organization.

She loved her family unconditionally, and always put her family first. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at 11:00 am  at the Polk Memory Gardens in Cedartown, Georgia, with  Reverend Wayne Benefield and Doctor Chris Moses officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Dustin Landrum, Harris York, Fred Johnson, Kim Carr, Andy Austin, Swayze Waters, and Ben Jackson.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund 101 N. College Street, Cedartown, GA 30125.

Shirley Ann Haney Ingle

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Shirley Ann Haney Ingle.

Shirley, age 90, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025. She was born in Knoxville, TN, to Beatrice Laura and Clyde William Haney, on September 18, 1935.

Shirley was a lifetime resident of Rockmart, GA, where she was a lifelong member of Aragon Baptist Church and proudly served as a past Auxiliary President of the American Legion Post 12 in Rockmart, GA.

She was employed at Goodyear for over 22 years and in retirement worked for Rite Aid Pharmacy. Shirley was a graduate of Rockmart High School, Class of 1954, where she was a cheerleader for four years.

Shirley was formerly married to Charles Ingle who preceded her in death. Together they have two surviving daughters, Gina Ingle and Tammy Ingle Sanders, both of Rockmart, GA. Also surviving is a grandson, Russ Sanders and Kelsey Sanders and great-granddaughter, Charlee Sanders of Sandy OR; sister, Myra Haney Quintana and Andrew Quintana of Cartersville, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her Mother, Beatrice, and Father, Clyde Haney. Also, preceding her in death are sisters, Dixie Haney Brannon, Toni Haney Blair, Nilada Haney Trenary, Nina Haney Yarbrough, Barb Haney; brothers, Harold Haney, Jack Haney and David Haney,

All who knew Shirley remembered her outgoing personality, infectious laugh and many years of volunteer service for the American Legion. Her whole life was wrapped around her girls, Gina and Tammy and she always said, “nobody did it better than my girls.”

Graveside and interment services for Shirley will be held on Friday afternoon, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Todd Jones officiating.
