Mr. Jeffrey Todd Lane

Mr. Jeffrey Todd Lane, age 58 of Rockmart, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Lane was born August 11, 1962 in Rome, son of Mary Beth Weaver Lane and the late Jerry Edward Lane. He was a 1980 graduate of Rockmart High School and attended Jacksonville State University. Jeff attended the First Baptist Church of Rockmart and for the past 35 years had been employed by the Culver Insurance Agency. He was an avid golfer, bass fisherman and trophy deer hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry E. Lane; mother-in-law, Sandra Rhinehart Ballard; and grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Weaver and Mr. & Mrs. Adron Lane.

He is survived by his wife of 32 loving years, Kim Almand Lane of Rockmart; and his mother, Mary Beth Lane of Rockmart.

Due to COVID, the family has respectfully requested that funeral services for Mr. Lane be private. Eulogies will be given by Mrs. Kim Lane and Mr. Bob Culver with Rev. Jason Odom officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Lucas Culver, Chris Culver, Tony Barnette, Jimmy Davenport, Ray Benefield, David Casey and Ricky Bowers.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Ronnie Greer, Bob Culver and Ronald Lovell.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church, Whole Heart Building Fund, P. O. Box 388, Rockmart, GA 30153 in memory of Jeff.

Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral service for Mr. Jeffrey Todd Lane.

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise, age 60, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Sunday evening, April 12, 2026.

Chuck was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on October 4, 1965 and had made his home in Rockmart for the past 16 years.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in cycling, fly fishing, riding motorcycles, and horseback riding. He also had a fascination with astronomy and a deep love for animals. Known for his warm spirit, Chuck never passed up a good latte or the chance to share a classic “dad joke,” bringing smiles to those around him.

Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Ellie.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Libby Hise, whom he married September 6, 1986; three children, Brandon Hise (Linzi), Meagan Brannon (Taylor), and Lauren Williams (Jeff); five grandchildren, Caroline, Kai, Fin, Kase, and Andy; and parents, Charles and Joanne Hise.

Funeral services for Chuck will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Little officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Chuck’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday evening, April 17, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Brandon Hise, Jeff Williams, Taylor Brannon, Greg Knight, Jake Knight, and Brantley Nelson. Chuck’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, 364 Parker Road, Lyerly, GA 30730 in memory of Mr. Hise.
