Mr. Jerry D. Ballard, age 83 of Rockmart, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021.
Mr. Ballard was born March 3, 1938 in Polk County, son of the late Hembrick Joseph Ballard and the late Inez Weaver Ballard.
He was a 1956 graduate of Rockmart High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Ballard retired from the Lockheed-Martin Corporation and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Edwards Ballard on May 3, 2016.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Ballard and Gregory Wade Ballard both of Rockmart; and a granddaughter, Jeannette Elaine Ballard of Cedartown.

Funeral services for Mr. Ballard will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart with Rev. David Warriner officiating. Interment services will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with church members serving as pallbearers. Brown-Wright American Legion Post #12 Honor Guard will be in charge of the military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
