Mr. Jimmy Chafin

Mr. Jimmy Eugene Chafin, Sr., age 73 of Cedartown, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Mr. Chafin was born October 29, 1947 in Aragon, GA, son of the late Horace Eugene Chafin and the late Beatrice Mae Wilson Chafin.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army and worked many years as an Equipment Operator at Tri-State Chemical. He was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Jerry Chafin, Linda Chafin, and Jenny Cole.

Mr. Chafin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Betty Chafin; three children, Jimmy Chafin, Jr. (Frankie) of Dallas, GA, Antonio Chafin (Carol) of Rossville, GA, and Melissa Chafin of Cedartown, GA; grandchildren, Blake, Justin, Felecia, Laura, Kerrie, Ashley, Misty, and Skyla; special nephew, Joe Hulsey; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be conducted Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. from the Aragon City Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Adair officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Wright-Brown Post #12 Honor Guard.

Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families we serve. We also ask all guests and family members attending the services to please wear a mask.

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield, age 77, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026.  

He was born on March 27, 1948. He was the son of the late John Parker Whitfield and Edith Ann Whitfield Willingham. 

Mr. Whitfield is survived by his son, Brian Whitfield and several other extended family members. 

Mr. Whitfield is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Renee Willingham Whitfield and brother, Howard Glenn Whitfield. 

A graveside service for Mr. Whitfield will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the family lot in Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating.
