Mr. Patrick West “Pat” Casey Sr.

Mr. Patrick West “Pat” Casey, Sr., age 86, of Cedartown, GA passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

Mr. Casey was born in Cedartown on January 12, 1937, a son of the late Robert Franklin “Pappy” Casey, Sr. and the late Martha Elizabeth “Patty” West Casey.

Pat had lived the greater part of his life in Cedartown where he attended Collard Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Casey was a member and Past Master of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge #121 F&AM, and was also a District Deputy of Seventh District. He was also a member of the Cedar Valley Shrine Club where he was a Past President.

Mr. Casey was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He had a great love for golf, enjoyed bowling, and western style square dancing. He loved the Collard Valley Community where he made his home and cotton farm for many years.

He retired as owner and operator of Casey Auto Repair after many years of service to the community. Mr. Casey was a good honest man who will be missed by his family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Elizabeth Casey; three brothers; one sister; and several nephews.

Mr. Casey is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Louise Oliver Casey, to whom he was married on December 10, 1973; two sons, Mike Casey (Angela) and Pat Casey, Jr. (Christie), all of Cedartown; three grandchildren, Ryan, Ava, and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, December 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Collard Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with masonic graveside rites provided by Caledonia Masonic Lodge #121 F&AM.

Pallbearers will include Ryan Casey, Sonny Newton, Kyle Watters, Donnie Smith, Mark Witt, and Tim McElwee.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12 noon until the funeral hour at Collard Valley Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Caledonia Masonic Lodge or the Shriners Hospital in memory of Mr. Casey.

Bobbie M. Lumpkin

Bobbie M. Lumpkin, age 84, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, following a brief illness.

Bobbie was born on February 27, 1942, in Rockmart, GA, the daughter of the late Cecil (Bud) Irwin and Cornelia Phillips Irwin. She lived all her life in Rockmart and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. She was a faithful member of Morning View Baptist Church, where she served many years as assistant pianist and taught youth classes and Vacation Bible School.

Bobbie was well known in the community for working with children. She taught at the preschool at the First Baptist Church in Rockmart from 1979 until 2002, serving as director for 12 years. After a brief retirement, Bobbie worked at the preschool at the First United Methodist Church. She was loved by all the children whose lives she touched, and they affectionately knew her as “Miss Bobbie.”

Bobbie enjoyed puzzles, shopping, and watching sporting events, especially the Atlanta Braves. She greeted everyone with a smile on her face and genuine love in her heart. She loved meeting people and visiting with her many friends. Bobbie never forgot any child she taught, and she loved reminiscing with them about their days in preschool. Above all, Bobbie loved being with her family. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, and adored her grandson, Andrew.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy L. Lumpkin, to whom she was married on March 1, 1958.

Survivors include her two sons, Rick Lumpkin (Pat), and Mark Lumpkin (Dena); grandson, Andrew Lumpkin; sister Carolyn Desley, sisters-in-law, Betty H. Lumpkin and Carolyn Stone (Randy), Shirley Lumpkin, and Betty Lumpkin; brother-in-law, Paul Bolstein; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lumpkin will be held on Thursday, April 16. 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lumpkin’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday evening, April 15, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pall bearers will include Andrew Lumpkin, Rick Lumpkin, Mark Lumpkin, Allen Wilson, Alex Wilson, and JD Paramore.
