Mrs. Kathryn Ann Carroll

Mrs. Kathryn Ann Carroll, age 58, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on September 27, 1962 a daughter of Frances Verta Camp Fennell and the late Edgar Allen Fennell, Sr.

Ann had lived all of her life in the Braswell, GA area and was a 1980 graduate of Rockmart High School and later attended Coosa Valley Technical School. She was a master cosmetologist. Ann was a member of the Springdale Baptist Church.

She enjoyed crafts and she never met a stranger.

Survivors include her son, Austyn Carroll; mother, Frances Fennell; sister, Connie (Greg) Austin; brothers: Richard (Kelly) Fennell and Edgar (Ed) Allen Fennell, Jr.; a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 2:30 pm in the Springdale Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bobby McDowell officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Tritt, Chris, Hank, Larry and Wayne Fennell and Jesse Hert.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Kathryn Ann Carroll.

Mrs. Nancy Ruth Gentry, age 78, of Adairsville, GA, passed away Monday evening, November 10, 2025.

Mrs. Gentry was born on December 26, 1946, to the late Otis Leman “Tobe” Grant and the late Lula Belle Edwards Grant.

Nancy’s working career included employment with Aragon Mills and Muzzy’s, and she later served as a medical technician at Renaissance Marquis before retiring. In her free time, she loved fishing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by her husband, Phillips H. Gentry, her daughter, Phyllis Kaye Gentry; and her 3 brothers, Billy Grant, Jerry Grant, and Jimmy Grant.

She is survived by her daughters Hope Uitermark and Stacey (Brent) Ledford; her grandchildren, Celia (Doug) Hall, Wade (Renee) Ledford, Adam (Hayley) Bell, and Erin Bell; greatgrandchildren, Kipton Hall, Harper Hall, Ava Bell, Gunner Bell, Peyton Ledford, Stryker Lewis, Jackson Higdon, and Cooper Higdon; her sister, Joyce Ward; sister-in-law Joan Paulus; brother-in-law, Jackie (Shirley) Gentry; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Nancy will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Gentry and Rev. Jesse Starnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylorsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Brent Ledford, Wade Ledford, Adam Bell, Doug Hall, Kipton Hall, and Bobby Cartledge. Honorary pallbearers include Stryker Lewis, Gunner Bell, Ava Bell, Harper Hall, and Peyton Ledford.
