Mrs. Teresa Dawn Jeffery Chandler

Mrs. Teresa Dawn Jeffery Chandler, age 66, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021.  She was born on November 27, 1955 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Charles Manuel and Betty Jean Gann Jeffery.

Mrs. Chandler is survived by her husband, William Tony Chandler, sister, Cynthia Gay Nichols (David); brothers-in-law, James Chandler (Dea) and Steve Sanford; nephews, Jeff Sanford (Dawn), Casey Sanford (Hannah), Alan Nichols, Dusty Nichols (Heather), James Madden (Kathryn), Dion Madden (Patricia), and Chad Chandler (Candice); and great-nieces and nephews, Harper Sanford, Carter Sanford, Malleigh Nichols, Gracin Nichols, Tenley Mae Nichols, Kaylan Sanford, Brandon Cheatwood, Bryson Cheatwood, Bayleigh Chandler, Lahna Madden, Bryon Madden, Daisy Madden, and Cameron Thomas.

Mrs. Chandler is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Lori Jean Sanford.

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Teresa Dawn Jeffery Chandler will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Mr. Kim Hardin, Mr. Max Kimball, and Mr. James Madden officiating.   Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Chandler will receive family and friends on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from one o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jeff Sanford, Casey Sanford, Alan Nichols, Dusty Nichols, David Nichols, and Steve Sanford.

Bobbie M. Lumpkin

Bobbie M. Lumpkin, age 84, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, following a brief illness.

Bobbie was born on February 27, 1942, in Rockmart, GA, the daughter of the late Cecil (Bud) Irwin and Cornelia Phillips Irwin. She lived all her life in Rockmart and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. She was a faithful member of Morning View Baptist Church, where she served many years as assistant pianist and taught youth classes and Vacation Bible School.

Bobbie was well known in the community for working with children. She taught at the preschool at the First Baptist Church in Rockmart from 1979 until 2002, serving as director for 12 years. After a brief retirement, Bobbie worked at the preschool at the First United Methodist Church. She was loved by all the children whose lives she touched, and they affectionately knew her as “Miss Bobbie.”

Bobbie enjoyed puzzles, shopping, and watching sporting events, especially the Atlanta Braves. She greeted everyone with a smile on her face and genuine love in her heart. She loved meeting people and visiting with her many friends. Bobbie never forgot any child she taught, and she loved reminiscing with them about their days in preschool. Above all, Bobbie loved being with her family. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, and adored her grandson, Andrew.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy L. Lumpkin, to whom she was married on March 1, 1958.

Survivors include her two sons, Rick Lumpkin (Pat), and Mark Lumpkin (Dena); grandson, Andrew Lumpkin; sister Carolyn Desley, sisters-in-law, Betty H. Lumpkin and Carolyn Stone (Randy), Shirley Lumpkin, and Betty Lumpkin; brother-in-law, Paul Bolstein; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lumpkin will be held on Thursday, April 16. 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lumpkin’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday evening, April 15, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pall bearers will include Andrew Lumpkin, Rick Lumpkin, Mark Lumpkin, Allen Wilson, Alex Wilson, and JD Paramore.
