Ms. Jennifer South

Ms. Jennifer Elaine South, age 50, of Lindale, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020.       

Ms. South was born in Rome, GA on February 1, 1970, daughter of Sandra Trammell Floyd and the late John Gary South. She received her Associates Degree in Human Service from Georgia Highlands College and before her retirement she worked at Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital as a Medical Tech.

 Survivors include her partner of 30 years, Todd Green, Lindale; a son, Zachary Todd Green (Blake West), Trion; her mother, Sandra Trammell Floyd, Cedartown; 3 sisters, Ramona Allen, Cedartown, Tammy Worthy, Buchanan, and Teresa South, Cedartown; 1 brother, Gary “Skip” South, Cedartown; nieces and nephews. 

 Ms. South will lie-in-state on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel from 5 pm until 7 pm. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. Following the receiving of friends and in accordance with Ms. South’s wishes, she will be cremated.

  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Trey Stephens officiating. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Mrs. Janice Dean Reed

Mrs. Janice Dean Reed, age 68, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, March 10, 2026.

Janice was born in Chicago, IL, on June 10, 1957, a daughter of the late James Howard Jorden and Wilma Mae Minor Jorden.

She had lived the greater part of her life in the Yorkville community and was of the Baptist faith. Janice was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was also a skilled carpenter who enjoyed building many things out of wood, including furniture. She loved fishing, camping, sewing, and crocheting, and she also had a green thumb and took great pride in caring for her plants and flowers.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Higgins and Bonita Penland.

Janice is survived by her husband, Benjamin L. Reed, Sr., whom she married March 16, 1974; two sons, Benjamin L. Reed, Jr. (Selena), and Paul Eric Reed (Melissa); grandchildren, Jorden R. Reed, Julianne Reed, and Jackson Reed; sister, Patricia Karen Reynolds; brother, James R. Jorden.

Funeral services for Janice will be held on Monday afternoon, March 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Butler and Rev. Jerry Reeves officiating.

Janice’s family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
