Mrs. Paula Ann Curenton Atkins, age 79, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her home.
Paula was born October 6, 1946, in Cedartown, GA. She was the daughter of the late Gethel Curenton and the late Annie Ruth Shelley Curenton.
She a was a graduate of Rockmart High School Class of 1964 and was a 1967 graduate of Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. Paula worked more than 40 years in the nursing field at Floyd Medical Center and Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA. Nursing was her true life calling, receiving the Professionalism in Nursing Award from Redmond Regional Medical Center in 2011 for her 44 years of continuous service in the nursing profession.
Paula was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockmart.
In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mr. Guy Atkins.

Paula is survived by her two daughters, Stacey Atkins Lovvorn and her husband Ben, and Kelley Atkins Pope and her husband Rodney, all of Rockmart; two granddaughters, Eisley Pope and Alexa Pope; sister, Laura Curenton Snow and brother-in-law Darrell Snow of Cedartown; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Rockmart with Dr. Jason Odom officiating. Interment services will follow at the Polk Memory Gardens.
Paula’s family will receive friends in the Great Room at First Baptist Church on Friday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Matthew Snow, Taylor Hughes, Mitch Boling, Lane Johnson, and Zane Barrow.
