Mrs. Peggy Chambers

Mrs. Peggy Chambers, age 70, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Peggy was born December 20, 1954, daughter of the late Robert E. Chambers and Lillian Chambers.

Peggy was the owner of the Huddle House on South Marietta Parkway from 1999 to 2013. She was a devoted Baptist who loved the Lord. Her day always started with a cup of coffee, one of her favorite things. Peggy enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and she loved watching classic shows like Andy Griffith and Matlock.

She found joy in simple things like nature and watching wildlife. Some of her happiest times were spent at the Huddle House with her daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren, and the many friends she made there over the years. Christmas was a special time for Peggy, with its traditions, decorations, and the time spent with family.

Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She always supported her family and offered a kind ear when they needed advice. She made a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Smith; son-in-law, Jack Montfort, Sr.; and siblings, Betty Massey, Douglas Massey, Barbara Parker, and Brenda Strohl.

Peggy is survived by her beloved daughters, Renee Barton and her husband, Jeff, and Connie Montfort; dearly loved grandchildren, Joshua Smith and his wife, Samantha, Brittany Romines and her husband, Cody, Jeannie Golden and her husband, Tyler, and Jack Montfort, Jr.; great grandchildren, Autumn Smith, Kaden Romines, Kyleigh Smith, Ryland Romines, Leighla Smith, and Waylon Golden; brother, Houston Chambers and his wife, Debbie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Justin Grant officiating.

Peggy’s family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.

The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Peggy Chambers.
