Mrs. Polly Jane Hopkins

Mrs. Polly Jane Mobbs Hopkins, age 62 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 peacefully after a long illness. She was born on May 26, 1961 in Cedartown.

She was called into Heaven by her Savior and was told “Well done, my good and faithful servant”. She served her Lord by teaching the children about Jesus with flannelgraph; children from all over the United States to children in the jungles of Nicaragua.

Polly was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She owned and operated Regal Tax Service for 30 years in Cedartown and Talladega. Polly loved all of her clients and thought of them as family.

Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her husband of 43 years, Stanley Hopkins; mother, Frances McWhorter Mobbs; daughter, Kayland Carol Hopkins; twin sister, Pamela O’Neal (Tracy); brother, Kevin Mobbs (Selena); niece, Dixie Mobbs; nephew, Ethan O’Neal; and dear girlfriends for over 50 years, Marie, Sheila, Margie, Debi, and Jo; and honorary daughter, Alicia Calhoun.

Mrs. Hopkins is preceded in death by her father, John L Mobbs; mother and father–in-laws, Bobby and Elizabeth Hopkins; maternal grandparents, Charles and Josephine McWhorter; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Lela Mobbs; sister-in-law, Carol Hopkins Lane; and other family and friends that went before her.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hopkins will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at one o’clock in the afternoon chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Redding and Rev. Ray Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ethan O’Neal, Kenneth Hopkins, Michael Gable, Adam Gable, Sebastian Cox, and Garrik Gable. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Coley and Terry Smith.

The family of Mrs. Hopkins will receive family and friends on Friday, December 15, 2023 from five o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise, age 60, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Sunday evening, April 12, 2026.

Chuck was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on October 4, 1965 and had made his home in Rockmart for the past 16 years.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in cycling, fly fishing, riding motorcycles, and horseback riding. He also had a fascination with astronomy and a deep love for animals. Known for his warm spirit, Chuck never passed up a good latte or the chance to share a classic “dad joke,” bringing smiles to those around him.

Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Ellie.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Libby Hise, whom he married September 6, 1986; three children, Brandon Hise (Linzi), Meagan Brannon (Taylor), and Lauren Williams (Jeff); five grandchildren, Caroline, Kai, Fin, Kase, and Andy; and parents, Charles and Joanne Hise.

Funeral services for Chuck will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Little officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Chuck’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday evening, April 17, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Brandon Hise, Jeff Williams, Taylor Brannon, Greg Knight, Jake Knight, and Brantley Nelson. Chuck’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, 364 Parker Road, Lyerly, GA 30730 in memory of Mr. Hise.
