Public Notice: City of Rockmart Public Hearing for Annexation and Rezoning

NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION AND REZONING

Notice is hereby given Artisan Built Communities, LLC, has submitted a petition for annexation and rezoning for property located north of Nathan Dean Parkway and off Noland Road (County Parcel # 060A-011), lying and being in the 18th District and 3 rd Section of Polk County, Georgia. A legal description of the property that is the subject of this proposed annexation is attached hereto as Exhibit “A: and made a part hereof by reference. The applicant has further requested that the property be zoned PD-I Planned Residential Development District under the Rockmart Zoning Ordinance, if the property is eventually annexed into the corporate limits of the City of Rockmart. This notice is published pursuant to the requirements of the Georgia Zoning Procedures Act, O.C.G.A. {36-66-1, seq., and Georgia annexation law. The clerk shall maintain on file a copy of a plat and legal description of the property, for review by interested members of the public. The Rockmart City Council will hold a public hearing at the next regular scheduled council meeting on January 16, 2023 at 7:00 pm, in the council chambers of the Rockmart Municipal Building located at 316 Piedmont Avenue, Rockmart, Georgia 30153, to receive comments for or against the proposed annexation and rezoning.

DESCRIPTION OF REAL PROPERTY

All that tract or parcel of land lying and bing in Land Lots 715, 716, and 717 of the 18th District and 3rd Section of Polk County, Georgia and being 58.202 acres according to a plat entitled “Survey for LCC Properties, LLC” prepared by Elbert H. Angel, Georgia Registered Land Surveyor No. 1742, date June 19, 2008and recorded in Plat Book BB, Page 35 in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Polk County, Georgia, which plat is incorporated herein by reference for a more particular description of said property.


PUBLIC NOTICE: Voting for Democratic Special Primary Runoff

In accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-270, the run-off primary to be held in Polk County on July 15, 2025, for the nomination of candidates of the Democratic Party, only one polling place shall be open and such polling place will be located at The Goodyear Civic Center, located at 108 Prior Street Cedartown, GA 30125.

Any voter who desires to vote in such run-off primary must vote at said polling place and no other polling places will be open for the run-off primary.

Please remember that Early Voting for the Democratic Special Primary Runoff will be held at the Goodyear Civic Center. Early Voting will be available July 7 – 11; 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily.

If you voted in the Republican Special Primary, you will not be eligible for this Democratic Primary Runoff.

You must vote in the same party runoff as the one you voted in at the original primary, and there is no Republican Party Runoff or have not voted in either adjoined election.
