Ray Casey

Ray West Casey, 67, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away June, 9th 2026 peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 8, 1959, in Cedartown.

Ray spent his life working the land as a farmer and served his community driving a tractor 27 years for the county. He was known for his kind heart, upbeat personality, and deep love for his family.

A self-described “back pew Baptist,” Ray had his share of front-row sins, but never let his praying hands grow lazy.

He was always there to lend a hand. He loved spending time with family, often serving as the family babysitter. He taught his nephews to hunt and fish and his grandchildren to garden, passing down traditions and love that will carry on for generations. To Ray, there was no such thing as “stepchildren,” only family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tanya V. Casey; his children, Amy Sulivan (Brian), Miranda Gibson (David), Heather Williams (Danny), Kimberly Crow, and Joshua Crow; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Sara Stanley (Harold), Manley Casey Jr. (Elaine), John Casey (fiancée Bonnie), Mike Casey (Kay), Roy Casey, and Nolie Forriester (Scott), along with his aunt, Frances Colquitt and a plethora of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manley Casey Sr. and Nelle Casey; his brother, Frank Casey; his grandson, Kaleb James Stough; his niece, Michelle Casey and his grandparents, John T. and Anne Lydell Colquitt, and William P. and Magnolia Casey. Along with his aunt’s, Sary Wray, Ruth Owens, Elizabeth Godwin, and Catherine Shackleford, and uncles, John Colquitt and Joe Colquitt.

Ray will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

The visitation for Mr. Ray W. Casey will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from eleven o’clock in the morning until one o’clock in the afternoon at Gammage Funeral Home. In keeping with Mr. Casey’s wishes, he will be cremated after the visitation. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Collard Valley Baptist Church with Bishop Kenneth Crowe officiating.
