Ms. Rhonda Leanne Shelton

Miss Rhonda Leanne Shelton, age 53, of Cedartown, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022.

Rhonda was born on October 2, 1969, in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of William Herman Garrett and the late Glenda Hill Sadler.

In addition to her mother, Rhonda was preceded in death by her bother, William Allen Garrett.

Having lived the greater part of her life in Cedartown, Rhonda was a graduate of Cedartown High School and worked for Mundy & Gammage Law Firm. She loved her dogs and enjoyed making crafts of various kinds.

Rhonda is survived by her son, Timothy Shelton and his wife Pamela of Cedartown; two grandchildren: Vincent and Jace Shelton; father, Herman Garrett and his wife, Cathy, of Leesburg, Alabama; sisters: Gia Pyles and her husband, Robbie, of Rome, Yvonne Moats and her husband, Johnny, of Cedartown; and sister-in-law, Christina Garrett of Rockmart. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

To celebrate her life, Rhonda’s family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13, 2022, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

Obituaries

Mr. Larry “Bushwacker” Brown, age 66, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Larry was born in Cedartown, Georgia, to the late J.C. Brown and Betty Garrett Brown, on August 15, 1959.

He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on. In his free time, he found joy in the simple things—riding the back roads, singing karaoke with friends, and spending time working on cars. He also had a love for music, often picking up a guitar and playing for those around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Jimmy Brown; nephews, Kevin Brown and Kenneth Brown; long-time friend, Jerone Jackson.

Larry is survived by his children Keith Brown (Alisha), Daniel Brown (Lindsey Reece), and Jadya Brown; twelve grandchildren; brother, Terry Brown (Diane Glover); sister-in-law, Belinda Brown. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Services for Larry “Bushwacker” Brown will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Justin Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Alabama.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
