On behalf of the family, The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to share the obituary of Mr. Rolland Harley Devor, III.

Rolland Harley Devor, III, 64, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Atrium Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia.

He was born May 8, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Rolland Harley Devor, Jr. and Raphella (Wotherspoon) Devor. He married Lori Ann Free in 1994 and she survives.

In addition to his wife of 30 years, Lori Devor of Cedartown, Georgia, step mother: Janice Devor of Creal Springs, Rolland is also survived by his his three children: Britney Devor, Bradley Devor, and Chrissie Pate; three sisters: Rachel Bryan and husband William of Bluford, Rebecca “Becky” Butts and husband Greg of Iuka, and Renee Eddleman of Christopher; one step-brother: Timothy Cook and wife Emily of Cheswick, Pennsylvania; three step sisters: Terry Toon of Flora, Marjorie Workman of McCleansboro, and Julia Hufnagel and husband Mark of Murphysboro; several nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rolland was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Devor, Jr. and Raphella Devor.

Rolland served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the DAV in Cedartown, Georgia and a former volunteer firefighter for the Polk County Volunteer Fire Department. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Antioch Cemetery in Centralia. Military Honor’s will be accorded at the gravesite by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and the Centralia VFW Post 2055.

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield

Mr. Johnny “Mike” Whitfield, age 77, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026.  

He was born on March 27, 1948. He was the son of the late John Parker Whitfield and Edith Ann Whitfield Willingham. 

Mr. Whitfield is survived by his son, Brian Whitfield and several other extended family members. 

Mr. Whitfield is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Renee Willingham Whitfield and brother, Howard Glenn Whitfield. 

A graveside service for Mr. Whitfield will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the family lot in Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating.
