With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a well lived life, we announce the passing of our beloved grandfather, Ronald Lee Hill, age 87, who passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026.
He was born, Ronald Lee Lewis, June 20, 1939, in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Dodie Phillips and Carl Lewis. He was raised by his grandparents, Rowena and Ronald B. Hill. He, later, had his last name legally changed to Ronald Lee Hill. He had 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
Ronald (Ron) was a man of honor, kindness, and quiet strength whose greatest joy was spending time with the people he loved. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later built a respected career with Honeywell, where he was known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and dependability.
Ron embraced life with a spirit of adventure. He loved spending time at the lake, especially jumping off cliffs into the water, visiting the beach, fishing, and enjoying the beauty of nature. He had a deep love for all animals and treated every living creature with kindness. He also enjoyed traveling, discovering new places, and creating lasting memories.
Above all else, Ron was devoted to his family. He was a loving grandfather whose wisdom, patience, humor, and unconditional love shaped the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His strength, humility, and generous heart will remain an example for generations to come.
Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the memories we shared and the legacy he leaves behind. A legacy of service, compassion, adventure, and love. His life reminds us to cherish our families. Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Ramona Christine Hill; and children: Danny Hill, Lolita Hill, Marsha Lamb and Rebecca Beddingfield.
He is survived by his children: Dory Hill, Elizabeth Hill Amoros, Deborah Lucas; Ramona W. Spencer (James), Verlin William Webb, 25 grandchildren; 20 plus great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal services are planned at this time. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Peachtree Memorial Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers of the VA, Harborview Nursing Home, Eternal Faith Hospice; and extends special thanks to granddaughter Tammy Garmon for her compassionate care.
The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Ronald Lee Hill.
