Rounders One Motel set to open in 2026

Work began on Monday to begin clearing the site for a new Boutique-style motel in Cedartown, and will be ongoing through the start of next year.

The new upscale offering is set to be opened in early Spring 2026 according to Aureate Properties’ Co-Founder and CEO Will Holdren, who said they plan to offer 12 suites and an office space at the new property on John Phillips Road behind Zorba’s and Coosa Valley Credit Union.

Holdren said they will be offering an upscale suite style motel when it opens with all new appliances and furnishings much like those available for rent from Hilton Hotels in larger cities, but with affordability in mind.

“We just got started clearing the ground for the project this week,” he said.

It is one of the latest projects to get underway in Cedartown, though most have been residential over the past year. Rounders One Motel is also one of the newest buildings to go up along the North Main Street corridor, and joins three others in the immediate area. Day’s Inn up the road across from Quality Inn and Suites, and across roadway the Crown Inn is another option.

The motel will add to a growing need for additional short-term options for stays within the city limits and around Polk County generally.

Residential construction has been the main focus for 2025 – new housing has popped up off Cherokee Road, Branch Street, South Main Street and East Avenue since the start of the year.

Rounders One Motel though located just on the edge of the neighborhood built up around Springdale Lake, it was already commercially zoned and ready for a developer.

It is also one of the newest buildings to follow the City of Cedartown’s new design standards, which hopes with new buildings to find a specific style to be followed in an effort to ensure that new construction has reuse value for commercial properties if their original businesses don’t last.
