Mrs. Ruth C. Bordelon

Mrs. Ruth C. Bordelon, age 88, of Cedartown passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Ruth was born November 13,1934, in Asheville, North Carolina to her late parents, Walter Crawford and Ida Davis Crawford.

Mrs. Bordelon loved her family and attending any sporting event that her children and grandchildren were participating in. She would always spend a little time shopping and watching the Atlanta Braves and North Carolina Tar Heels.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Horace Crawford, Ralph Crawford, and Odell Crawford.

Mrs. Bordelon is survived by her husband, Eldan Bordelon; children, Lee Brown and his wife, Cathy, Denise Wallace and her husband, Mark, Linda Bordelon, Gary Bordelon and wife, Tammy, and Randy Bordelon; grandchildren: Trey Brown and wife, Megan, Brett Wallace and wife, Meredith, Leslie Kimball and husband, Roger, Ashley Purser and husband, Brian, Breanna Edwards and husband Ty, Charlie Crider and wife, Brittney, Nathan Bordelon and wife, Krista, Deanna Spranza and husband, John, Heather Harbin and husband, Michael, Taylor Hunter, Brandy Jones, Savannah Bordelon, and Katlyn Bordelon; 17 great grand children also survive. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bordelon will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Benefield officiating. A eulogy will be given by Charlie Crider. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Reverend Billy Frasier officiating.

The following gentleman will serve as Pallbearers: Trey Brown, Brett Wallace, Roger Kimball, Brian Purser, Ty Edwards, and Charlie Crider.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 12, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also Tuesday prior to her funeral service at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

Floyd Earl Anderson Jr.

Floyd Earl Anderson Jr., age 70, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday afternoon, January 19, 2026.

Mr. Anderson was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on December 27, 1955, a son of the late Floyd Anderson, Sr. and Dorothy Faye Milam Anderson.

He spent the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was of the Baptist faith. After 36 years of dedicated service, Mr. Anderson retired from Meggitt, where he was known for his strong work ethic and loyalty. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.  Above all, Mr. Anderson was a devoted family man who cherished time with those he loved. He had a deep love for music and found joy in playing the guitar, and in his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Anderson.

Mr. Anderson is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Cheri) Anderson, and Jesse (Jessica) Anderson; two sisters, Kathy (Larry) Grimes, and Vickie Polston; brother, Terry Shores. Eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Shores officiating.

Mr. Anderson’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Thursday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
