Mrs. Sarah Pierce

Mrs. Sarah Pierce, age 85, of Cave Spring, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Mrs. Pierce was born in Cullman, Alabama July 15, 1938, daughter of the late John Thomason and Mae May Lipham Thomason.

Sarah lived most of her life in Cave Spring, Georgia. She was a long-time member of Westside Baptist Church in Felton, Georgia.

She will always be remembered as a devoted homemaker that cherished her family. She always enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie “Webb” Pierce; and brothers, John Thomason, and Gene Thomason.

Mrs. pierce is survived by her daughters Carol Lynn Hill of Cave Spring, Rhonda Blankenship and her husband, Tim of Cedartown; grandchildren, Kalum and Candy Hill, Kody and Holly Hill, Rachel and Kyle Trout; and great grandchildren, Emma Grace Hill, Sarah Elizabeth Hill, Demi Kate Trout, Noah Hill, and Riley Hill. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Pierce will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery located in Ellisville, Alabama.

The family of Mrs. Pierce will receive friends Monday afternoon, August 7, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

Mr. Tony Ray Taylor

Mr. Tony Ray Taylor, age 73, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Mr. Taylor was born in Marietta, Georgia, on November 10, 1952, a son of the late William Albert Taylor and the late Eunice Purser Taylor.

Tony spent most of his life in Kennesaw, where he was a resident for 48 years, before moving to Rockmart two and a half years ago. After relocating, he attended Victory Baptist Church.

Tony found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors fishing and tending to his garden, and he especially enjoyed grilling and barbecuing for family and friends. These moments, filled with laughter and togetherness, were where Tony was most at peace and happiest.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie Maner, and a brother, Roy Taylor.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Lana Turner Taylor; daughter, Lisa Taylor; son, Michael Taylor; grandchildren, Emily Potts, Sophie Maner, Colin Douglas, Kaitlyn Taylor, and Grayson Douglas; sister, Edna (CW) Knight. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Tony will be held on Wednesday afternoon, January14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating.

Tony’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.
