Susie Irwin Morgan

Ms. Susie Irwin Morgan, age 67, lifelong resident of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Susie was born on May 10, 1955 in Rockmart, GA, to her parents: Jimmy Allen Irwin, Jr. and Anne Ruth Brown Irwin.

Mrs. Morgan graduated from Rockmart High School and went to school at Floyd College where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She went to work at Floyd Medical Center as a labor and delivery nurse for 36 years.

In her free time, she enjoyed bird watching, her dogs, and spending time with her family. She also loved to go to Wal-Mart and was called “The Wal-Mart Queen” by her family and friends. Ms. Morgan was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Richard Wynn.

Susie is survived by her loving children: Jonathan Wynn and his wife, Dawnelly of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Nicholas Wynn and his wife, Ambar of Cedartown, GA, and Haley Sims and her husband, Bubba of Rockmart, GA; grandchildren: Lindsey Wynn, Ansley Wynn Sammantha Wynn, Nikole Wynn, Alexia Sams and Alexandria Wynn; great-grandchildren: Korbyn Cargile and Willow Jean Cargile; sister, Lucy Cromer and her husband, Keith of Cedartown, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Ms. Susie Irwin Morgan will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home chapel with eulogies being provided by Mrs. Sandra McRae, Bubba Sams and Matthew Pope. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Bubba Sams, Randall Cargile, Kolby Odom, Chris Nails, Landon Pope, Jake Odom and Coty Cromer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the service hour at 2:00 PM.

Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Ms. Susie Irwin Morgan.

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise

Mr. Charles D. “Chuck” Hise, age 60, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Sunday evening, April 12, 2026.

Chuck was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on October 4, 1965 and had made his home in Rockmart for the past 16 years.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in cycling, fly fishing, riding motorcycles, and horseback riding. He also had a fascination with astronomy and a deep love for animals. Known for his warm spirit, Chuck never passed up a good latte or the chance to share a classic “dad joke,” bringing smiles to those around him.

Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Ellie.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Libby Hise, whom he married September 6, 1986; three children, Brandon Hise (Linzi), Meagan Brannon (Taylor), and Lauren Williams (Jeff); five grandchildren, Caroline, Kai, Fin, Kase, and Andy; and parents, Charles and Joanne Hise.

Funeral services for Chuck will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Little officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Chuck’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Friday evening, April 17, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Brandon Hise, Jeff Williams, Taylor Brannon, Greg Knight, Jake Knight, and Brantley Nelson. Chuck’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, 364 Parker Road, Lyerly, GA 30730 in memory of Mr. Hise.
