Teresa Halbrooks

Mrs. Teresa Lynn Halbrooks, age 66, of Aragon, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Born to the late Vera Everett and Carl Everett, Mrs. Halbrooks spent most of her life in Aragon.

She dedicated much of her career to her beauty shop, where she proudly worked as a licensed master cosmetologist. She had a true passion for her profession and found great joy in caring for others through her work, doing what she loved every day.

In November 1985, she married the love of her life, Mr. James Halbrooks, and together they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage.

Mrs. Halbrooks found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved working with hair, tending to her garden, and watching the hummingbirds that frequently visited her yard. She was especially proud of her beautiful hydrangeas and never missed an opportunity to share stories about her beloved grandchildren and great-granddaughter. When she wasn’t outdoors, she enjoyed watching Star Trek and Dr. Pol, faithfully following every season of both.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Halbrooks was preceded in death by two sisters, Deborah Swepeniser and Byrdie Summerville.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, James Halbrooks; her children, Craig Beck (Jackie) and Dawn Sisson; her grandchildren, Macie, Mason, Daemien, and Junior; her cherished great-granddaughter, LouElla; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever treasure the love and memories they shared with her.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Halbrooks will be held on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Chambers and Rev. Kent Thomas officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
