Terry Chesley Wells

Mr. Terry Chesley Wells, age 79, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on April 4, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Born an identical twin on November 7, 1946, at Floyd County Hospital in Rome, Georgia, he spent his life in Cedartown, Georgia rooted in the place he called home, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable stories.

After serving his country in the Army Reserves, Terry married his high school sweetheart, Irene Watson in 1967.

He built a dedicated career with Lockheed-Martin Aircraft Corporation and later, Georgia Power, where his strong work ethic and steady presence were admired by all who knew him. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #84.

Outside of work, his passions were unmistakable—anything with wheels and an engine. From NASCAR to classic cars, he had an opinion on them all. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: driving his ’32 Ford, fishing, wearing his signature Hawaiian shirts, spending time out at Haney’s Garage, and petting ALL of the dogs.

He loved every moment he spent with his twin brother and cared for Jerry until his death in 2015. Most of all, Terry loved bragging about his kids and grandkids, who were his pride and joy, and his favorite title he ever held was “Peebo”. To know him was to know laughter.

He was an absolute riot—never one to hold back what he thought, always ready with a witty comeback, and forever eager to galivant wherever life might take him. His presence filled every room, and his absence leaves a quiet that will not easily be replaced. More than anything, he will be remembered for his generosity.

He exemplified the gospel command to give to those in need without fanfare. He lived out the quiet kind of giving—never for recognition, alway from the heart. He made sure no one around him went without.
