Mr. Timothy Dale Hughes

Mr. Timothy Dale Hughes, age 54, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024.

Tim was born in Cartersville, GA on April 6, 1970, a son of Glen Hughes and Tinnie Hembree Hughes.

Tim spent his childhood years in Acworth before living the greater part of his adult life in Paulding and Polk County. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time hunting and fishing. Tim enjoyed watching cartoons, the holiday seasons and traveling to Gulf Shores and Cades Cove.

His greatest enjoyment and love was spending time with his family and making memories with each of them. 

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Glen Hughes; step-mother, Roberta Hughes; step-father, Kenneth O’Neal; grandma and grandpa Hembree; grandma and grandpa Hughes; mother-in-law, Nancy Weaver; niece, Crystal Lynn Garrett; and cousin, Sam Dobbins.

Survivors include his wife, Nicole Hughes, to whom he was married on January 18, 2005; children, Everett, Elizabeth, Eve, and Elijah Hughes; mother, Tinnie Hembree; sisters, Sherri Garrett and Wendy (Matt) Little; nephews, Zach, Joseph, and Travis; numerous other special nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Kem Weaver; brother-in-law, Jesse (Cybelle) Weaver; and special friend Ken Kimsey.

Memorial arrangements for Mr. Timothy Dale Hughes are incomplete at this time and will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Larry “Bushwacker” Brown


Obituaries

Mr. Larry “Bushwacker” Brown, age 66, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Larry was born in Cedartown, Georgia, to the late J.C. Brown and Betty Garrett Brown, on August 15, 1959.

He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on. In his free time, he found joy in the simple things—riding the back roads, singing karaoke with friends, and spending time working on cars. He also had a love for music, often picking up a guitar and playing for those around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Jimmy Brown; nephews, Kevin Brown and Kenneth Brown; long-time friend, Jerone Jackson.

Larry is survived by his children Keith Brown (Alisha), Daniel Brown (Lindsey Reece), and Jadya Brown; twelve grandchildren; brother, Terry Brown (Diane Glover); sister-in-law, Belinda Brown. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Services for Larry “Bushwacker” Brown will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Justin Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Piedmont, Alabama.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
