The driver of a classic car and a tractor trailer were both transported to the hospital after a wreck in front of Tip Top Poultry in Rockmart.
Rockmart Police the intersection at Prospect Road and Highway 278 closed and it will be as crews will be required to rehang traffic lights due to the damage caused by the wreck.
Per Rockmart Police, the driver of a late 1960s model Plymouth Road Runner turned in front of a tractor trailer attempting to go southbound on Prospect Road when they turned in front of a tractor trailer driving eastbound on Highway 278.
The condition of the driver of the Plymouth was unknown, but they were being transported to an area medical center for treatment. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to the hospital for treatment as well, but no major injuries were reported.
The crash caused a pole used to support traffic lights to fall down amid the collision. Rockmart Police are detouring traffic westbound onto North Prospect Road for the time being to detour around, and have traffic closed off eastbound for the moment but will be turning traffic southbound onto South Prospect Road.
